UNC Basketball Update News and game summaries from a life-long North Carolina Basketball fan(atic)

UNC 73, Winthrop 66   Whoa! I knew Winthrop was good (won their conference last year), but they weren't supposed to be leading UNC at the half. Needless to say, this was a nail biter up until the final 5 minutes when UNC secured a 4+ point lead to close out the game. Maybe it was good they gave UNC such a close game. Three things killed us in this game (especially in the first half): lack of intensity, turnovers and Torrell Martin who had 20 points in the first half. We came out in the second half with more intensity and Hansbrough was a monster. He led UNC with 20 points on the game. Last year guys like Terry went from 4-5 turn overs a game to 4-5 turn overs in a few weeks. What was your opinion? # posted by  BB : 12:27 PM   You are absolutely right, lack of intensity, turnovers, and a very hot player were all common occurrences last year. I'm not sure if it is just a young team thing. Anytime UNC loses, there always seems to a player on the other team that had the game of their life. Terry is exhibiting very similar characteristics to last year. Not making great decisions with the ball, a little wild when he drives which draw charges, and flashes of brilliance.
