We won't have the Rookie of the Year next year (correction)
Coach Williams and Brandan Wright mentioned during
today's press conference that we won't have the Rookie of the Year next year. I knew we hadn't signed anyone yet, but with Reyshawn leaving, that leaves 1 open scholarship. I guess Roy didn't find anyone he liked in time to give it out. Either that or he likes a couple of players in the
2008 class more.
After next year, we'll have 2 open scholarships (with Quentin graduating). I imagine we'll have even more with at least Brandan and Tyler in strong contention to jump to the NBA (if they don't do it this year).
CORRECTION: It dawned on me yesterday that we will have 1 scholarship player next year...namely William Graves, the Greensboro standout that red-shirted this year. Even though he came in with this year's freshman class, he'll be considered a freshman from a basketball eligibility perspective next year.
